Meet Oreo, a typical happy-go-lucky Lab who will gladly greet strangers like they are his lifelong best friends. His owner is soon to be deployed in the Army, and will temporarily be unable to care for Oreo. We are seeking a foster home to care for him from Sept. 4 through Jan. 23, 2026 in the Des Moines IA area.

Medical needs: Currently on medication for epilepsy 3x daily (owner will cover all medical costs)
Fun Facts
Oreo is described by his owner as a goofy dog who adores playing with people and other dogs. He loves going on his daily walks after which he is content to just chill and snuggle. Since Oreo is a big dog who doesn’t always remember his size, he will do better in a foster home that does not have very small children. Oreo also has a mischievous streak – his favorite thing to play with are socks; if he gets the chance to grab a sock he will gleefully play fetch with it by himself. Even when getting into trouble, he acts so happy and proud it is impossible not to laugh at Oreo’s antics.
