Angel is a member of the US National Guard who is currently stationed overseas and preparing for an assignment which will keep her away from her Titusville, FL, home from 2/1/2019-5/10/2020. Angel and her dog Luna have quite a sad story to tell, but we’re hoping PACT and our awesome fosters can write them a happy ending.
Angel originally left her puppy Great Pyrenees, Luna, with a friend whom Angel thought she could trust. Angel’s “friend” then gave Luna away after an argument. This was 6 months ago. Luna was picked up as a stray this week, running down a highway near Angel’s previous neighborhood. Luna was doing her darnedest to get home, traveling over 100 miles to get back to the place where she spent the first months of her life with Angel. Angel was overjoyed to be contacted by the shelter after they scanned Luna’s microchip! Angel quickly contacted PACT, hoping for a miracle to save Luna and see her again after she returns from deployment. Please consider giving this homeward-bound dog a gentle, loving place to rest her head and her paws while she waits for Angel to return from deployment.
Luna is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees mix. She will be spayed within the next week, and will need a foster who is comfortable checking her stitches. Luna is a great, friendly, goofy gal who has lived peacefully with children, dogs, and cats. Luna is crate trained, leash trained, and knows commands for sit, drop it, paw, lay down, and stay. Luna likes a moderate amount of exercise, and would do very well in a family that can spend the time walking her and taking her to socialize at a dog park or doggy daycare. Luna has had a stressful few months, so most importantly we’re looking for a calm home with a regular routine to get this girl feeling good again. Can you offer beautiful Luna a place to stay?
