Darlene is a citizen in Damascus, OR, who is facing a total hip replacement in early April. Darlene’s children live out of state and she has no one nearby to look after her loving senior dog, Jem.  Jem will need a foster from 4/1/2020 – 8/1/2020.  Could you give him a safe place to stay?

Jem is a 13 year old 60lbs neutered male Golden Retriever.  He is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention.  Jem is very quiet and behaved in the home, and is a low energy senior dog who is happy to go for a quick walk in the morning and evening after breakfast/dinner.  He has lived happily with kids 6+ years old, cats, and other dogs of all shapes and sizes.  Jem walks nicely on leash and knows commands for sit, stay, and “where’s your ball?”  Darlene says, “Jem is a total sweetheart and adores playing catch. He is so polite that even when handing him a treat he will wait until you release it in his mouth to take it. Also he is so playful and happy when he is playing catch outside or running at the beach everyone thinks he is a puppy until they get up close and see his grey hair.”
