Austin is a member of the US Army and is on a 6 month assignment overseas. During this time, his wife Abigail is home in Manhattan, KS, with their two children under 5 and their energetic, sweet dog Kash. Abigail is a healthcare worker, and is finding it hard to keep up with long hours, attending to the kiddos, and still making time to exercise Kash the way he needs while Austin is away serving our country. Austin and Abigail are hoping to find a great family to look after Kash until Austin returns home, from 6/15/2020 – 11/15/2020.
Kash is a 5 year old, 65 lbs, neutered male golden doodle. He is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention (Bravecto.) Kash does well with young kids and other dogs, but hasn’t had much experience with cats. Kash can sometimes be leash reactive towards other dogs, but plays well off leash after introduction. Kash has separation anxiety, and his favorite thing to do when dealing with his stress is chew on socks – so just make sure the laundry is put away when you leave him for the day! Kash is an athletic dog that loves to hike, run, and play ball in the yard. He walks well on leash and knows commands for sit, stay, down, and paw. Austin says the perfect foster for Kash would be, “Someone who works from home or will be home for the next months. A family/person who can walk him at least once a day, sometimes twice. Has time to play outback with him and throw a ball. Someone who does not mind him in your personal space, in the kitchen, in your bedroom, on the couch while you watch a movie. Kash will be your best friend if you let him. Ultimately they enjoy the outdoors and are looking for a dog to keep them busy from June to November.”
