Nicola’s husband is a Captain in the US Air Force who will be returning home from a 5 month overseas assignment in mid-June. The family will have to remain in their home for a full two weeks when he returns home: this means no running to the grocery store, no trips to the park, or even playing in the yard or walking their dog, Walter. The family is hoping to find a foster for just two weeks starting a day before Nicola’s husband returns home, and ending following their two week quarantine period, about 6/15/2020 – 7/9/2020, near their home in Clovis, NM.
Walter is an 18 month old, 55 lbs, neutered male “Golden Irish.” He is microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention. Walter is an energetic young dog and loves to take walks, go for runs, and play in the yard with his family. Walter is a chewer, and should not be left unattended with shoes, garden hoses, and people food. He is still very “puppyish” and working on his obedience training, but does well on leash and understands commands for sit, stay, down, heel, paw, and roll over. Walter does well with young kids and other dogs, but doesn’t have any experience with cats. Nicola says Walter is goofy and loves attention and would likely do best in a foster home with kids for him to play with.
