PACT does more than just save the lives of family pets — we also do everything we can to improve the lives of young hospital patients in our program. Eli, who is 7 years old and battling brain cancer, has had his beloved puppy Andouille fostered by a PACT Foster Family for the last six months. Eli’s condition was so severe that his Army dad, SSG Chavez, took emergency family leave to be with his young son. When PACT was offered free tickets to the Peanuts premier, we knew just the family to bring! Eli, his mother Carrie, and young sister Eneida showed up with PACT Founder and staff and were showered with Peanuts-themed gifts like hats, T-shirts, posters, and candy. The Peanuts movie was hilarious, reminding all of us how strong the bond between a boy and his dog can be. Eli and his family loved the 3-D movie and enjoyed the much-needed break. PACT is thrilled to be able to help a family in crisis by both keeping their family pet safe and bringing a bit of joy to their lives.
