DD and Xena need a foster in AL!

Arthur is a US Marine veteran who is preparing for surgery to improve his mobility.  Arthur’s only reservation before undertaking this operation is leaving his dogs, DD and Xena.  PACT is hoping to find a great foster for DD and Xena near their home in Phenix City, AL, during Arthur’s surgery and recovery, from 3/15/2021 – 7/31/2021.

DD is a 3 year old, 50 lbs, spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier.  She is up to date on her vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.  DD is great with other dogs and cats, but doesn’t have much experience with young kids.  DD is crate trained, working on her leash manners, and knows commands for sit, down, and speak.  Arthur says, “She will wait by the side of my bed to get permission to sleep with you. She loves to fetch. She loves to bring you a toy for interaction.”

Xena is a 5 year old, 70 lbs, spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier.  She is also up to date on her vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.  Xena is good with other dogs and cats, but Arthur asks that her foster take special care if there are any alpha household dogs, as she may react defensively to alpha behavior.  Xena is crate trained, working on her leash manners, and knows commands for sit, down, and speak.  Xena and her sister DD both have separation anxiety, and should be kenneled when a foster is leaving the home. Arthur also uses a tie-out for her, even in his fenced in yard, because she likes to dig.  Arthur says, “Xena has ears that stick up like a bat. She hears everything. She runs around the yard like she was on fire sometimes whether I tire her out in the house or not. She will sometimes hop into the bed and snuggle up with your feet in the middle of the night. She cocks her head to the side and ponders what you are doing when you work around the house.”
