Marley & Moose are looking for a placement in San Antonio, TX. The owner is willing to transport them to their foster home.
The owner desires both dogs to be placed together. The Army is relocating the owner and family to Italy for a year.
MARLEY
- Female Dog
- Bulldog/Boxer Mix
- 11 yrs. old, approx 80 pounds
- Low energy
- Ok during thunder & fireworks
- Loves people. Can live with dogs that respect the lower energy of a senior dog. Exposure to young kids and teens. No exposure to cats. No aggression. No destruction.
Fun Facts:
Marley is a sweet old girl who is now mostly a couch potato. She doesn’t get much exercise beyond going outside to potty and coming right back in. She is past the stage of wanting to play with other dogs (she’s “done with it”). Marley is tolerant of children and still likes to wrestle with them. She likes to cuddle and when sleeping with “her man” (i.e., dad). While Marley doesn’t have many visitors at her house, when they come in, she gets excited, stays excited, and seeks attention from them. When Marley is happy and relaxed, she flips onto her back, and the puppy side of her comes out during her “wiggle-worm” performances.
Her health is what you might expect of a dog her age. There is some struggling to get up the stairs and getting lumps and bumps prone to this breed. A foster would need to be mindful of new bumps or changes to current bumps and seek medical care for assessment. Marley can safely have free range of the house when left alone for a few hours. No crating is required. She is used to being in kennels, so that should not be an issue if the foster goes on vacation. Marley & Moose sleep together.
MOOSE
- Male Dog
- Retriever Mix
- 3 yrs. old, approx.80 lbs.
- Medium energy
- Ok during thunder & fireworks
- Loves people and dogs. Exposure to teens. No exposure to cats. No aggression. No destruction.
Fun Facts:
Moose really likes to play with other dogs, and since big sister Marley doesn’t feel like playing much anymore, his owner is open to the idea of Moose going to daycare as he’s really enjoyed himself when he’s had to have been kenneled when his owners are away. Moose can pull hard on his leash when he sees other dogs; he gets very excited about the prospect of a good time! He is a goofy boy – one of his most fav things in life is the ice maker: Should he hear you getting ice from the fridge, he will come running and give you begging eyes until you give him an ice cube or two.
While Marley is a cuddler, Moose is not. He does like being petted, but not on his head (he gets grumpy!). When visitors come to the house, he gets both excited and nervous (in a submissive way); just go slow with him until he warms up. Because of his nervousness with new people, he will bark when the doorbell rings. Moose can safely have free range of the house when left alone for a few hours. No crating is required. Marley & Moose sleep together.
