Let’s keep these pets together! The owner’s dates are mostly set but may change as the deployment date gets closer.

Desired placement location: Currently in West Fargo, ND. The owner is willing to transport pets to almost anywhere in the US for the right home. The owner desires both dogs are placed together.

The owner is in the National Guard, deploying to Guantanamo Bay.

Georgia Basic Fur Facts:

  • Female Jack Russell Terrier
  • One year old
  • Approx. 23lbs.
  • Low energy, Healthy. On Tick & Heartworm preventatives. Loves people.
  • While she has lived with other dogs, cats & kids, a home with no other pets/kids is preferred.*
  • No destruction. Leash trained/doesn’t pull on the leash. Potty trained.
  • No adverse reaction to rain/thunder/fireworks.

Georgia Fun Facts:

Georgia is a sweet, quiet, well-behaved old girl who will cuddle with you in bed once she gets to know you. She gets scared of being held, so that is not advised. She’s pretty low-key and only requires short walks.

*While she has lived with other pets during her life, she is now at the stage where she wants to be left alone and can bark/growl/snap to convince obtuse dogs that she DOESN’T WANT TO PLAY.

Since Georgia is older and suffered a torn meniscus when she was younger, her knee bothers her & she requires two supplements in her food daily. She takes these well. She does not have to be crated during the day as she has never shown any destructive tendencies.

Whiskey Basic Fur Facts:

  • Male, Australian Cattle Dog
  • One year old
  • Approx. 40lbs.
  • High-energy, Healthy. On Tick & Heartworm preventatives. Loves people.
  • Mostly untested with cats.
  • Due to guarding behavior, a home without kids or other pets is desired.*
  • No aggression except with his toys*. Destructive to objects left around the house.*
  • Potty trained/potties outside almost 100% of the time.*
  • Leash trained/ pulls on the leash
  • No adverse reaction to rain/thunder.

As Whisky just turned one year old, he is still working on manners! He can still jump on people occasionally in his excitement & happiness at seeing a new friend. (he loves people). He still can have the occasional accident, although he is primarily house-trained at this time. While friendly with other dogs (he’s been to dog parks & daycare), he is very protective when toys are involved* – (perhaps because his dad was a champion herder?) and may snap is due to this guarding behavior. While he has never bitten anyone, this guarding behavior causes us to believe that a home without dogs other than Georgia and children are ideal. He has only been around cats one time, and while nothing bad happened, he doesn’t have enough history to know how he would be around them long-term. Whisky pulls enthusiastically on his leash.

He isn’t a huge cuddler, though he may sleep in the bed with you. He is very well-socialized around people. He carries his toys around and loves stuffed animals. His dad feels that due to his age, breed, and energy, Whiskey requires a lot of exercise. Whether long walks, trips to the dog park 2-3x/week, or running around in the yard after his ball, these activities help prevent Whisky from acting out destructively due to boredom. When he is destructive, he will go after random items left around the house (including dad’s video games. Yikes!) Due to his still puppy-like behavior to this end, his owner keeps him crated when left alone.
