Dogs can be split up – Bella & MJ would ideally be placed together. Marlow can be placed by himself.

Desired placement location: Currently in San Antonio, TX. The owner can only transport pets anywhere in the lower 48.

Their owner is in the Air Force, deploying to Qatar.

Bella Fur Facts:

  • Female, 6-years-old Lab Mix, approx. 55 lbs.
  • Hyper/High Energy. On flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
  • Loves people & kids. Doesn’t like most other dogs (especially female dogs and alphas).
  • Likes small dogs. No cats.
  • Leash trained
  • No aggression
  • Crate trained
  • No adverse reaction to rain/thunder/fireworks.
  • Can ‘bolt’ out the door, so be cautious.

Fun Facts:

Bella is great with kids – they can lay on her, pull her tail, etc. She can go for a walk all day, run forever and play fetch in the yard for hours.

She’s an unusual Lab in that she doesn’t like the water – whether it’s the pool or going out when it’s raining. When it’s raining, she will try to postpone going out to the potty as long as possible. Once you insist, she’ll even turn on the puppy-dog eyes to ask you to reconsider, lol.

She gets excited when you talk to her, and you can both have a conversation; she tries to mimic your sounds. She loves to be petted.

MJ Fur Facts:

  • Male, 2 years old Lab/Husky, 60 lbs.
  • Hyper/High Energy. On flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
  • Loves people & kids. Doesn’t like most other dogs (especially female dogs and alphas).
  • Likes small dogs.
  • No cats.
  • Leash trained: Kind of. Doesn’t pull but doesn’t have the best handle on this task.
  • Crate trained: Must be crated while foster is away or can be destructive.
  • Can ‘bolt’ out the door, so be cautious.

MJ is a momma’s boy (to his mom, Bella), a complete spaz/very clumsy, and a total love. For example, when you come home, he is SO excited that it sounds like he’s screaming and dying! He will howl until he is let out of his crate. He wants attention very badly and will lift up your hand with his head to get pets, just like sister Bella. MJ has NO SENSE of personal space; you can be sitting down doing homework, on your laptop, etc., and if he decides he wants to be in your lap…he’s in your lap.

One of MJ’s fav things is water. If you leave the hose out, he will try to get the hose. If you water something, he will try to get in the water. If he’s bored, he will dig in the yard; he also likes to chew, so be careful what you leave about. *MJ is very good about pottying outside, except sometimes at night; he needs to be either crated or shut in a room; otherwise, should he have to ‘go,’ he won’t wake you up & will potty in the house.

He likes to play and would love to be in a home where he can get a lot of energy expended.

MARLOW Fur Facts:

  • Male, 3-year-old Husky, 55 lbs.
  • Medium Energy. On flea/tick/heartworm preventatives.
  • Loves people.
  • No children. Prefers large dogs; is rough with smaller dogs.
  • No cats or tiny dogs.
  • Leash trained: Yes, but can be adventurous.
  • Crate trained: Can be left out during the day.
  • No destruction. Can be aggressive about toys*
  • Loud noises scare him (rain/thunder/fireworks)

Marlow is a handsome boy and super smart, capable of more training. You can have conversations with him; like any Husky, he is very vocal, and when he wants, he has a lot to say. He can be sweet and cuddle with you ‘on his terms; otherwise, he can be pretty independent.

While he likes kids, he should not be placed in a home with them because he is protective of his toys; if anyone tries to take his toy from him, he can definitely act out and bite. He also does not appreciate having his tail pulled on.

Marlow is a bit funny around other dogs. He has never been aggressive towards anyone, but if he is around larger dogs, he may choose to go off by himself/avoid them. His observed play with smaller dogs is that he can be a little rough with them, so it is advised that he doesn’t get exposed to them so he doesn’t accidentally injure them due to rough-housing. It may be best to have Marlow in a home just with Bella and MJ or in a home as an only pet.
