Fun Facts

Beuwulf’s owner is very proud of his boy and thinks he’s an amazing dog – he’s incredibly bright and has very human-like qualities. For example, he will give you a shifty look when he wants to get into something and is trying to see if you’re paying attention! He loves to snuggle, loves attention and will DEMAND to be petted – if you are slow to the mark or resistant, Beuwulf will give you a look with his eyes that you’ll be powerless to resist! His dad says he is very expressive and makes lots of funny faces that will cause you to smile. He is a ham when it comes to taking pictures.

Beuwulf is a big ball of energy and has a signature ‘Superman move’: he’ll run into the living room from the bedroom and do a running leap over the sofa, much to his dad’s amazement and pleasure. When he’s not outside, he is likely to be found with his chew toys. Potential fosters should know that while Beuwulf is not a destructive dog, if not crated while they are gone, he can become bored and get into things. He also has proven to be a bit of an escape artist with his current foster, who notes that can jump a 5’ fence and should be watched closely or kept on a lead outside.

He is very docile and never hurt his sibling turtles or lizard. He likes chasing squirrels, playing with other dogs (large and small), and going to the park. He enjoys going for walks, running and playing with kids. *Very small kids might get knocked down due to his exuberance, but otherwise, he will make a wonderful family companion – he wants to give kisses, play fetch and tug of war and get his belly and ears rubbed.

The ideal home for Beuwulf will be larger than a small apartment, with room to play and run around and his foster should be able to give him the exercise and attention he needs. He is a good boy who can go for an extended period (about 12 hours) without any accidents in the house.
