Rachael is a member of the US Army Reserves and is scheduled for an overseas assignment which will take her away from her Owings, MD, home from 12/15/2019 – 8/31/2020.  Rachael is hoping to find a great foster home for her small dog, Leo.

Leo is an 8 year old neutered male Yorkshire Terrier.  He is microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations and flea/tick preventative.  Leo is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, down, roll over, and beg.  Leo has an “alpha dog” personality and is easily frightened/threatened by high energy dogs and young children, and should not be place in a home with either.  Leo does best with a slow introduction to new adults and older children.  He is non-destructive in the home.  Leo gets carsick, but loves to go for walks and work out some of his boundless energy.  Rachael has this to say about her special boy: “Leo has come a long way since I first adopted him from the shelter. He has become a great little watch dog and can be very loving. He loves to just climb up on the couch or recliner and lay out next to you. He is definitely a stubborn dog, but also very smart. He reminds me of a toddler when you tell them not to do something, but he tests the limits and tries to do it anyway. He loves to be the center of attention. He is very attached to my daughter who is currently in college. When she is home, he get super protective of her and really thinks he is a big dog.”  Please consider giving Leo a home for the holidays!
