Brianna and her husband are a dual Army family. They are both scheduled for assignment from 6/15/2020 – 8/23/2021. In addition to being removed from their one-year-old daughter, the couple must also find a foster home for their two dogs, Jade and Jackson. Brianna had previously arranged for a foster outside of the PACT program, but unfortunately they pulled out at the very last minute. PACT is attempting to find the dogs a foster home near their home in Fort Sill, OK, but Brianna and her husband are willing to travel out of state to find the right place for them.
Jade is a 2 year old, 50lbs, spayed female Australian shepherd mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations, flea/tick prevention (Bravecto) and heartworm prevention. Jade is crate trained and knows commands for sit and stay, but she does pull on leash, so her foster would need to be willing to work with that. Jade loves to be with her brother Jackson, and will cry and whine if they’re separated in the home. She loves to steal socks out of the laundry, play with her toys, and snuggle with Brianna.
Jackson is a 2 year old, 60 lbs, neutered male Australian shepherd mix. He is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick prevention (Bravecto) and heartworm prevention. Jackson is crate trained and knows commands for sit and stay, but like his sister, he pulls on leash and will need a handler willing to work with that. Jackson should be crated when he’s not being supervised, as he loves to chew! Both Jackson and Jade do well with other dogs, and have been around small kids, but would do best in a home with older kids to play with them in the backyard.
Brianna says that the pups would do best with, “Someone who loves dogs and loves a companion to be laying on them and being with them all the time. Jackson needs a home with his sister where they can lay around inside all day and go outside to play. They love sleeping with someone at night.”
