Joshua is a member of the US Coast Guard and is preparing for an extended assignment and training overseas. He and his young family will be overseas for the next two years, from 7/15/2020 – 7/1/2022. They’re hoping to find a great PACT foster near their home in College Park, MD, to care for their dog while they are away serving our country.
Ripley is a 4 year old, 45 lbs, spayed female Australian cattle dog. She is up to date on her vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and she has been microchipped. She even has her own pet insurance plan! Ripley is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, down, come, and stay. She does have some seasonal allergies and will come with a daily allergy pill, which she takes without issue. Ripley gets along well with other dogs and children. Joshua says, “Ripley would be great company for anyone desiring to foster a dog that loves attention. Although she is a high energy breed and a herding dog, she has an arthritic hock joint as a result of an injury a few years back, so she can’t do a lot of strenuous activity (even though she wants to) or she’ll limp for a few days after. Short walks (<1 mile) are great, and lots of petting.”
