Kristine is a member of the US Air Force getting ready for a 12 month assignment overseas, from 11/30/2020 – 12/30/2021. Kristine is hoping to find a great foster for her two snuggly cats, Malcolm and Simon, near their home in Cheyenne, WY.
Malcolm is an 8 year old, 13lbs, neutered male domestic short haired cat. He is declawed, up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. Malcolm is prone to UTI/Bladder stones and eats a special diet to lower his risk. Malcolm is pretty timid, but will be your best friend when he warms up to you! Both Malcolm and his brother Simon LOVE to chew on indoor plants, so all green and growing things should be kept up and away from the kitties. Kristine says, “Malcolm is an amazing cuddler. He loves to be picked up and held like a baby. He’s loud and he isn’t very friendly, but once he decides he loves you, he’s always by your side. He also has a big belly, very good for rubs. He’s such a ham. He howls when you take him to the vet, and you have to really shove this boy into the cat carrier. When he gets there, though, he’s on his BEST BEHAVIOR. Sometimes they can’t get a heartbeat because he’s purring too loud. Such. A. Ham. I think he would be good with older kids, but he definitely needs his quiet time and space. He loves to cuddle on blankets and soft couches, and he’s a constant companion during the night. So a house that would allow him on furniture would be good. I’m rather strict with my boys, so they’re not allowed on the kitchen counters or the dining room table. They should have a firm household to keep up with the rules. They need a responsible household to make sure their litter box is cleaned. They need to be in a dog free home. Other cats are questionable. Malcolm does NOT do well initially with other cats. He has been known to warm up, but not quickly. He is bonded with his brother, so he needs to be in a house that can accept both boys.”
Simon is a 4 year old, 13 lbs, neutered male domestic short haired/Snowshoe cat. Simon is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, and microchipped. Like his brother, Simon is prone to UTI issues, and eats the same special diet to control those issues. Simon is more of a social butterfly than his brother. He is scared of tinfoil and plastic bags. Simon has a bad habit of scratching the underside of Kristina’s box-frame mattress. His favorite toys are hairbands. Kristine says, “Simon is not a cuddler. His version of “cuddling” is sitting on the floor next to you, or on the armrest of the couch. He will let you know when he wants pets. He like to come up to you and give you a head butt, and that’s the signal. He cannot get enough ear scritches. Or butt scritches. But only on his terms. I think Simon would be great with kids. He’s more outgoing than his brother, but he also likes his space. He needs some guidance, because sometimes he loses his mind, so it should be a household that makes time to be home and play with the boys. Again, they need to be responsible with the litter box and making sure he doesn’t get outside. It should be a household with minimal plants, because he will chew them.”
