Andreas is a member of the US Army Reserves and will be going on an overseas assignment from 12/11/2020 – 5/18/2021. Andreas is looking for a temporary caregiver for his dog, Baxter, near their home in Bronx, NY.
Baxter is a 12 year old, 30 lbs, neutered male Beagle. He is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. Baxter is crate trained and leash trained, and knows commands for sit, shake, lay down, and “time for bed.” Baxter does well with other dogs with a slow introduction. As a senior pup, he prefers low-energy companions, and does best with calm children who won’t rush him. Andreas says, “He looks for nothing but unconditional love. He is a fun, loving, chill older dog with some spunk in him. When I first got him, I was trying to train him to sleep on his bed. As I’m sitting on the floor with his bed, he instead jumps on our futon at the same time and just perched there. His special trait is that he’ll work with you and find his own way at the same time.”
