Liesl is a member of the US Navy who is going on assignment from 4/7/2021 – 9/1/2021. Liesl is hoping to find a great foster home for her two adorable dogs, Adonis and Orion, near their home in Round Lake Park, IL, for the time that she will be away serving.
Adonis is a 4 year old, 65 lbs, neutered male Labrador/Shepherd mix. Adonis is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. Adonis is well socialized with other dogs, cats, and kids. He can experience separation anxiety if he isn’t with other animals or people, and may chew on his own feet/legs due to the stress, but is fine if he has his buddy Orion with him. Adonis is leash trained and knows commands for sit, stay, lay, roll over, high five, “are you talkin’ to me?” and go around. Liesl says, “He will sit with you and “cuddle” when you are sad or crying. Very sensitive to human emotions.”
Orion is a 1 year old, 65 lbs, neutered male Coonhound. Orion is also up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. Orion is great with kids and other dogs, but can be fearful around Border Collies and Aussies due to a bad experience with an aggressive individual at the park. Liesl says that once Orion realizes another dog is friendly, he becomes relaxed and will initiate play as well. Orion is leash trained and knows commands for sit, lay, roll over, high five, and go around. Liesl says, “Great hunter and growing up into a very sweet dog. Still has some ageing to do, but listens extremely well. I can take my dogs both unleashed on walks if truly needed.”
