Tim is a member of the US Navy and will be at training from 4/1/2021 – 1/1/2022. Tim’s wife recently had their first baby, and she will be moving home with her parents while Tim is in training. Unfortunately her extended family already has a full house of dogs, so the couple is looking for a great foster near Exton, PA, to care for their beautiful Blu during Tim’s training.
Blu is a 1 year old, 80lbs, neutered male American pit bull terrier. Blu is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. He is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, lay down, crate, place, wait (for before meals) and “okay” to signal it’s time to chow down. Blu is a powerful chewer, and should be monitored when chewing on his toys as he has swallowed pieces in the past. Blu loves to play with other dogs, but doesn’t realize he’s a big guy, so other large dogs are preferred playmates for Blu. Tim says, “Blu loves to cuddle and loves affection. He is great at playing catch and LOVES to swim. He also loves to go to the dog park and run around with other pups. When Blu wants something he Oinks like a pig! Blu is a person pleaser and is very loyal to his family. The perfect foster family for Blu would be someone who can give him love and exercise. He’s a family dog and likes to be with his family all the time. He will not go roam around outside by himself if it is just him. He likes someone outside with him to play catch or sit next too. He would do great in an environment with older kids and an active family. He is a large dog and still has “puppy energy”. He loves other dogs. A home with other large dogs to play with would be great! He currently lives with 3 small dogs (however) they are too little to play with him and he doesn’t know he is 80 pounds. Blu needs a home were he will not be crated a lot and can look forward to having the house to roam. He loves to play catch, play with toys, and go on walks. He will also snuggle with you on the couch or in bed! Like stated above he is a big family dog!”
