Eleanor is a citizen in Seattle, WA, who is expecting a baby. Although this is such an exciting time in Eleanor’s life, she is experiencing some pregnancy-related medical issues that mean she will need to be in the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy, from 8/12/2021 – 10/31/2021. Due to COVID-19 protocol, Eleanor is unable to take her service dog, Elphie, outside of the hospital for walks or potty breaks, and will need an absolutely awesome foster home to watch her for the remainder of Eleanor’s hospital stay.
Elphie is a 6 year old, 50 lbs, spayed female Belgian Malinois. She is microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and flea/tick prevention. Elphie walks nicely on leash and knows commands for sit, down, stay, leave it, come here, let’s go, up, down, wait, drop it, no, and a variety of disability-related tasks. She does well with other gentle dogs and children. Elphie may exhibit some separation anxiety, being away from Eleanor, and will need a little extra affection and exercise from her foster family to help her through. She loves to chew on her own toys and snuggle up with her person. Eleanor says, “She is so so smart and loves to snuggle. Elphie’s perfect foster family would be a family that would understand her sadness being away from me, and be snuggly with her to comfort her. She really likes kids, so they could have kids. She loves the park so they would take her there often, but also let her be a couch Potato cause she loves that too!”
