Jonathan is a member of the US Navy who is preparing for an overseas assignment from 12/1/2021 – 7/1/2022. Jonathan’s family are not local and are unable to care for his two dogs, Doc Holiday and Jazzie, for the duration of his deployment. He is now desperate to find a temporary, loving home for Doc and Jazzie near their home in Chesapeake, VA.
Doc Holiday is a 2 year old, 65lbs, neutered male Plott Hound. Doc is up to date on his vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. He is crate trained and knows commands for sit, lay down, and shake. Doc enjoys walks and playing in the yard with his sister, Jazzie. He also loves to go to the park to socialize with his friends! Doc hasn’t had experience with young children or cats. Jonathan says, “He is a cuddle bug and enjoys sleeping a lot through out the day. He tends to snore and sometimes he howls at dogs outside. Doc would love a house with a big yard and to be joined with his sister Jazzie.”
Jazzie is a 4 year old, 27lbs, spayed female Whippet. Jazzie is microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention. She is crate and leash trained and knows commands for sit, lay down, and shake. Jonathan says, “Shes a medium sized dog but acts like a lap dog. She’s very well tempered and is sweet towards everyone. The perfect foster family would be somewhere she can be joined with her brother Doc Holiday. Hopefully in a house with a yard because she likes to sun bathe during the day and play outside with her brother. The foster would need to give her lots of loving.”
