Meet Iris, the fun-loving 2-year-old German Shepherd-Pit Mix. She is looking for a foster home while her owner is on detachment with the Navy and is a great dog who loves people, including children of all ages, cats, and other dogs. She would make a happy addition to any active household.
She is currently located in Williamsburg, VA, and can be transported anywhere – though due to time constraints, her owner would prefer a home on the East Coast or within driving distance of Williamsburg. She needs a place to stay from October 23, 2022 – September 9, 2023.

Fun Facts
Iris has a great disposition and is just a happy dog. She loves all people, children, other dogs, and cats and enjoys running around the yard, long walks and playing. She is loyal and curious and at home, she will follow her owner everywhere and always wants attention – either to play or just get some love. Iris is very gentle and patient with younger children and enjoys giving them kisses.
Iris is crate trained but doesn’t need to be crated; she will happily lay in her crate with the door open. At night she will either sleep in her crate or on the floor in her owner’s bedroom.
Iris is trained to stay off the furniture and is completely leash trained and even trained to “go potty” on command. The only time she might pull a little is if she sees a squirrel, but after receiving the command to “leave it,” she will stop pulling and resume her walk.
The perfect foster home would be an active household, with another dog and children to play with.
